Dua lipa is a British musician and singer born on August 22, 1995, in London. After being a model for a fashion magazine and songwriter, she was able to sign with Warner Bros Records and release her first album. It peaked at number third on the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles including Be The One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. number-one single New Rules which peaked at number six in the United States. Lipa received the Brit Awards as a British female solo artists and British debut act in 2018. The album was certified platinum worldwide. She was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is Bosnian. The ancestors of her can be traced all the way back to Peja which is a city located in Kosovo. Both of her grandparents were historians. She is the sister of Rina Lipa, as well as an older brother called Gjin. Lipa was heavily influenced by music by her father, who was the guitar player and lead singer of the Kosovan rock band Oda. At home her father continued playing music which included his personal compositions and songs composed by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics.
